Widal (Tube Agglutination) – Typhoid Test
Widal test is used to make a presumptive diagnosis of Typhoid fever, caused by a bacteria Salmonella that spreads through contaminated food & water. The symptoms include high fever, vomiting, diarrhea & stomach pain. Early diagnosis & treatment are important because the disease can lead to serious complications. Even though this is a more sensitive test, it is recommended to confirm by a blood culture If your result is positive.
