This test measures both albumin & globulins and also compares the amount of albumin in your blood to the amount of globulin called A:G ratio. Low levels of total proteins are suggestive of liver or kidney disease, malnutrition, malabsorption etc. High levels are seen in conditions such as Multiple Myeloma. Age & diet also affect the protein levels in your body.
