Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammation of many joints including those of hands & feet. Your body’s immune system attacks its own tissues mainly joint lining. This causes painful swelling, bone erosion & joint deformity. About 40% of patients suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis also have other organs & tissues involved. Risk factors include female gender; middle age; family history; smoking; obesity. This panel tests common autoantibodies that can damage the joint lining.
