This is the most basic test performed to rule out bleeding tendency in a patient. Bleeding time measures how fast the blood vessels in your skin stop bleeding. It is usually done prior to any procedure or surgery. Normal bleeding time is between 2 to 9 minutes.Clotting time is the time taken by your body for a sample of blood to clot. Average time for the blood to clot is 10-13 seconds. This test is usually ordered by your doctor in case you require an operation.
